UK ORDERS AND BREXIT
All items ship from Germany. Please read Return / Exchange section below closely.
Please choose £GBP as your shopping currency in the drop down menu in the top right corner. This will automatically remove the 19% German VAT from the price of your order.
UK IMPORT FEES, DUTIES AND 20% VAT WILL BE CHARGED TO YOU BY THE ROYAL MAIL WHEN YOUR ORDER ARRIVES IN THE UK.
Following Brexit, all orders with a value of more than 135£ shipping to the UK may now be subject to customs fees, Import VAT and handling fees. These fees can be up to 40% of the value of the item! The current information, as provided by HMRC here, suggests the following:
- For items over 135£ - Under UK customs law, the importer (you/customer) is legally responsible for paying the Import VAT when the goods are received
- Royal Mail (or carrier) may charge a handling fee to cover the costs for carrying out customs procedures, which includes paying any Customs Duty or Import VAT due and collecting it from you. This fee is the responsibility of the importer (Sleepy Fox® customer). These fees are at the sole discretion of the carrier / processor and Sleepy Fox® has no influence over these handling fees
- For Items with a value of 135£ or less, VAT is included in the price per UK regulations.
Any and all fees, duties and Import VAT imposed at the UK border are the sole responsibility of, and payable by, the customer.

Any orders returned to Sleepy Fox® due to unpaid fees, duties or taxes from the UK will incur a 29,99€ Return Shipment, Documentation & Processing Fee. This fee will be deducted from any refund due. Refunds cannot be issued until the order is returned back to our office.
Sleepy Fox® cannot refund any fees, duties or VAT on returned or exchanged products.

NORTH AMERICA
USA – Important Information
All Sleepy Fox® items are shipped directly from Germany. Please review the following shipping guidelines carefully before placing your order.
New U.S. Import Tariffs (Effective April 2025)
As of April 2025, all goods entering the United States from the European Union are subject to a 10% import tariff. These tariffs are applied by U.S. customs and are the responsibility of the buyer.
Due to these changes, customs clearance times may be longer than usual, and delays can occur. We appreciate your patience during this transitional period.
U.S. Delivery Timeframes
Before April 2025, average transit times to North America were approximately 2–3 weeks.
Due to current customs delays and shipping disruptions, exact delivery times are temporarily unknown.
Please note: Our larger products, such as dog beds, are shipped via sea freight. This means shipping times are generally longer than for standard packages.

Important U.S. Customs & Tracking Notes

Customs clearance in the U.S. can be delayed due to backlogs.

Occasionally, packages may not show live tracking updates even though they have cleared customs and are en route.

USPS and DHL are aware of this issue and are working to improve tracking accuracy.
U.S. Return Shipments & Fees
If a shipment is returned to Sleepy Fox® due to:

Unpaid customs/import tariffs, or
-
An undeliverable address
- Package not picked up from carrier facility
…it will incur a 29,99 € Return Shipping, Documentation & Processing Fee, which will be deducted from any eligible refund.
Refunds will only be issued once the package has been received back at our facility.
Non-Refundable North America Crisis Fee
Since 2020, North American countries have imposed a Crisis Fee on non-essential imports. Unfortunately, this fee is still in effect, and we are required to pass this cost on to our customers. This non-refundable fee is included in your shipping total at checkout.

Returns / Exchanges from USA / North America
Please note that shipping costs back to Germany are extremely expensive and can even cost more than the product itself. We highly recommend that if you have any questions about size or color, you email us before buying - as returns and / or exchanges are cost prohibitive.
By placing an order from our online Sleepy-Fox store, you agree to accept the estimated delivery times and fees.

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
IMPORTANT: All returns must be shipped to our offices in Germany. All return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
International return shipping costs are extremely expensive and should not be considered an option.

RETURNS
To be eligible for a return from Sleepy Fox®/Happy Hanalei GmbH, you must have purchased your item directly from www.sleepy-fox.com/.de. If you did not purchase your Sleepy Fox® directly from www.sleepy-fox.com/de, you must contact the store in which you purchased your bed to request an exchange or refund.
You may return or exchange any unused item within 14 calendar days of receipt. To be eligible for a refund, the returned item(s) must be clean, unused, in their original packaging with the tags still attached. Items returned used, dirty, damaged or with dog hair will not be refunded.
Sleepy Fox® is unable to refund any additional shipping fees, import fees and / or Crisis Fees paid on returns or exchanges.
You must contact us via email at woof@sleepy-fox.com PRIOR to shipping any goods back, to let us know if you would prefer a return or exchange and why your item did not meet your expectations.
Once we receive your email, we will issue you a return authorization number and provide you with the return address. Please note that based on your location, the return address may be different than the original shipping address.
Remember, you must return your clean, unused item(s) in the original packaging with the hang tags attached to Germany.
Please note - you will be responsible for all return/exchange shipping costs to Germany. It is advised that you purchase sufficient postal insurance from a provider of your choice to cover the full value of your exchange/return, as Sleepy Fox® is unable to reimburse returns or exchanges that go missing or get damaged in transit. It is advisable to retain your proof of postage until you have received your refund. In addition, if you paid international shipping or expedited shipping fees, these costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping (if charged back to Sleepy Fox®) will be deducted from your refund.

CANCELLATIONS
We endeavor to ship all orders as quickly as possible. Once an order has been processed for dispatch we are unable to cancel it. Not to worry - we offer 14 day returns.
