If your dog loves to burrow, tunnel under the covers or sleep beneath your blankets, a dog cave bed may be exactly what they've been searching for. The Sleepy Fox® Snuggle Cave Bed, handmade in Europe and loved by dog parents across the continent, gives burrowing dogs a cozy, covered den of their own. Now a selection is shipping to the USA through our USA Snuggle Shop.
What Makes a European Dog Cave Bed Different
Not all dog cave beds are created equal. Many covered dog beds are mass-produced overseas with little transparency about where and how they're made. Even labels can tell only part of the story: a bed may be assembled or filled in one country from materials made in another. Many lose their shape after just a few washes and end up in already overflowing landfills. Sleepy Fox® takes a different approach.
Every Sleepy Fox® Snuggle Cave Bed is handmade in Europe by skilled craftspeople, using OEKO-TEX certified fabrics that are tested for harmful substances, so they're safe for your pet and your home. Each bed is built to last, with removable covers that hold up wash after wash. That matters for a bed your dog will spend half their life in.
The design itself is patented in the USA, Canada, the UK and Europe. It was created by a former VP of a global luxury brand who wanted a bed that looked beautiful in the home and truly answered a dog's need for a safe, cozy den. Today, Sleepy Fox® and our luxury sister brand KONA CAVE® are trusted by pet parents in more than 40 countries.
Why Dogs Love to Burrow Under the Covers
Burrowing isn't a quirk. It's instinct. Long before sofas and dog beds, wild canines sheltered in dens: small, enclosed spaces that kept them warm, hidden and safe while they slept.
That instinct is still alive in your dog today. It's especially strong in small breeds like Dachshunds, Chihuahuas, Jack Russell Terriers, Yorkshire Terriers and Pomeranians, and in medium breeds like Beagles. But burrowing isn't just for little dogs. Greyhounds, Whippets, Weimaraners and Huskies love to burrow too, which is why Sleepy Fox® makes an extra roomy large Snuggle Cave Bed for big burrowers.
A covered dog bed gives them exactly that. The canopy creates a quiet, cocoon-like space that:
- Feels secure. It limits noise and visual distractions, which helps anxious or sensitive dogs settle.
- Holds warmth while it breathes. It's ideal for small, short-coated or older dogs who get chilly. A unique rear air vent regulates the temperature and lets in fresh air for safety.
- Won't roll or tip over. A stable base keeps your dog safe as they climb in and out.
- Adds an extra snuggle layer. Matching blankets are available and easy to wash.
If your dog loves to burrow, a burrowing dog bed isn't a luxury. It's simply a better night's sleep.
Two Beds in One: Open Canopy or Cozy Sleeping Bag
Every Sleepy Fox® Snuggle Cave Bed adapts to the way your dog likes to sleep. Arch the canopy open to create a cozy cave, or let it drape down like a sleeping bag for dogs who love to be completely covered, like Greyhounds and Whippets, who often sleep tucked in from nose to tail.
Shipping a European Dog Bed to the USA, Made Simple
Unfortunately, cross-border shopping has become more complicated lately. Changing shipping rules and unexpected import charges have left many American shoppers wary of ordering from overseas, and nobody wants a surprise bill at the door.
So we've made it simple. Every price in our USA Snuggle Shop includes shipping, import duties and fees. The price you see is the price you pay, with nothing extra on delivery. Your Snuggle Cave Bed ships directly from our home in Berlin, Germany, to your door.
A Limited Selection, So Choose Carefully
Our USA selection is limited, and sizes and fabrics may sell out. Because international returns are costly, and shipping charges, duties and fees cannot be refunded, we encourage you to take a moment to find the perfect fit before ordering.
- Size Guide: Measure your dog curled up and stretched out to choose the right size.
